de Toona-Stage 2
Circuit Road Race
Stage 2 was a 74 mile circuit race located just outside
of Altoona Pa,in
the small town of Johnstown. Riders completed 3 laps
of a 24.5 mile,
mountainous circuit that traveled up a 12 mile grueling
climb to Cramer
Peak. Several breakaway attempts were made, mostly
by the AutoTrader.com
Cycling Team. However, the race all came back together
for the finish.
Lyne Bessette had managed to gain a small gap on the
bunch, but withthe
teamwork of AutoTrader.com and a fantastic lead out
for Tina Mayoloby
Katrina Berger, it looked as though the AutoTrader.com
team had takenthe
stage. But after reviewing the photo finish tapes,
Lyne Bessette had
actually touched the finish line first by millimeters.
Nonetheless,it was
a great stage and an exciting day for the AutoTrader.com
Team, who nowleads
the team competition by 10 seconds over Team Intersports
and 12 secondsover
Saturn.
